The Big House lies on spatial/temporal divide between Soledad, CA and the vast vineyards and traditions of the Mediterranean. The wines were born of the notion that the California climate is more hospitable to the rollicking, sun-loving grapes of the Mediterranean than some other varieties that should probably remain nameless (i.e. cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, and merlot). Our goal is to craft fun wines that engage the mind as well as the palate, while having as much fun as is possibly allowed by our industry and governmental agencies.
