St. Emilion Grand Cru Classé
Just three kilometers from the town of Saint-Émilion, the vines of Cháteau Laroque are on clay chalky slopes exposed mainly to the south and east. The origin of the cháteau was in the middle ages and it was rebuilt during the reign of Louis XIV. The impressive vineyards, which overlook the Dordogne River and valley, are planted with two-thirds Merlot and one-third Cabernet. Following vinification, the wine is carefully matured in oak barrels for 12 months.
